Opera Breve Vocal Intensive 2011: Innaugural Season
Opera Breve is proud to announce the inaugural season of Opera Breve Vocal Intensive from July 24-August 7, 2011. Participants will hone their performance skills in a two week program of masterclasses, stage instruction, acting, vocal lessons, foreign language diction and coaching in both Opera and Musical Theatre. On the beautiful campus of Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, the two week program will culminate in presentations of a number of one-act operas and scenes as well as cabarets in both the Opera and Musical Theatre genres. Faculty members are well-established professionals in both teaching and performing. Check out the Staff section for specifics!
The cost of the intensive is $2,000, including room and board (3 meals a day) on campus at Midwestern State University. If housing is not needed, the cost of the program will be reduced to $1,600. Travel to and from Wichita Falls is NOT included in the cost of the program. A deposit of half of the program fee will be due upon acceptance into the program. The other half of the program fee will be due by July 1st, 2011.
A limited number of scholarships will be available to selected participants. If interested, please attach a letter of interest to your application packet.
Music will be pre-assigned and ALL Participants must come with their music learned and off-book as staging will begin upon arrival to MSU. Operas and repertoire will be decided based upon the audition screening.
THE WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY & HOW OF IT!
Who: Emerging Professionals and Students interested in honing their craft and expanding their performance experience. (Participants must be at least 16 years of age, and there is no age limit)
